These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PlateCost ("Service"), operated by PlateCost ("we," "us," or "our") at platecost.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
PlateCost is a food cost management tool for restaurant operators. You may use the Service only for lawful business purposes. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
PlateCost offers a free Starter plan plus paid Pro ($149/month) and Scale ($249/month) subscriptions billed monthly. Prices and included features are displayed on the pricing page and within the app.
New accounts begin on the free Starter plan. You may upgrade to Pro or Scale at any time to unlock additional features such as export, print, weekly digest email, purchasing visibility, and historical snapshots.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize PlateCost to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All fees are in USD and are non-refundable except as required by law.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to your paid plan features until the period ends.
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You retain ownership of all data you enter into PlateCost, including ingredients, recipes, menu items, and financial data. We do not sell your data to third parties.
You grant PlateCost a limited license to store and process your data solely to provide the Service. We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Service.
If you request account deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days after we verify and process that request.
You agree not to: reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service; use the Service to store or transmit malicious code; interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service; attempt unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
PlateCost and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by PlateCost and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written consent.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Food cost calculations and financial figures provided by PlateCost are estimates based on data you enter. They are not a substitute for professional financial or accounting advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlateCost shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
